Welcome to the Klass of the East
From the 33rd Polemarch
On behalf of the Columbia (MD) Alumni Chapter (E) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., I am honored to welcome you. Our Chapter was chartered on November 9, 1974, in Columbia, Maryland, by 22 distinguished men of Achievement, with a primary focus on community concerns, particularly the status of African-American youth in Howard County. As recently as March 18, 2018, the Howard County Executive recognized our Chapter “to acknowledge dedication to community service and educational programs that have a positive impact on Howard County, Maryland” and for “Kappas’ efforts during more than four decades to build social action programs that advance opportunities for our youth.” As the 33rd Polemarch of this illustrious Chapter, I am proud to lead this Chapter as we continue in those sustained efforts to serve the community of Howard County.
My vision as Polemarch is “Faithful Service – Enduring Impact.” To serve our community and each other, we will foster an environment of creativity, service, and fellowship. We will organize to serve and sustain our priority programs and the well-being of Brothers. We will
position Columbia (MD) Alumni Chapter as a leader and premier Chapter in the Eastern Province, through achievement, fellowship and service to our community. We will also ensure that all Chapter activities and programs meet the highest standards of ethics, governance and transparency, and that they are aligned with our grand Fraternity’s sacred core values.
As you can see from more than four decades, our service continues dutifully, and I personally thank our Brothers and the community for all of your invaluable support. Thank you for visiting and we hope that you are inspired by our service and will continue to support our cause to be a champion for our youth in the Howard County community.
With warmest regards,
Henry R. Felix, Esq.
